Language Aquisition

At Alice Smith Elementary, we are committed to providing targeted support for our English language learners (ELLs) to help them succeed both academically and socially. Students who qualify under the Nevada criteria for English learner eligibility receive services through our dedicated EL teacher. Support is provided through a combination of push-in and pull-out instruction, allowing students to receive language development both within their general education classrooms and in small group settings. Our EL program focuses on building English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing while also supporting content-area learning. We are proud to create an inclusive environment where every student can grow with confidence and thrive as a learner.
